Honeymoon & Engagement on the Oregon Coast

February is the month for romance and we've been honored by two amazing couples recently here at Sandlake Country Inn.

Let me first introduce you to a couple that might look familiar to you if you've been reading our blog:

HONEYMOON

Daragh Byrne & Leanne Shaw first stayed with us December 2009. Years after a breakup, living on opposite sides of the country, fate brought them together again. After staying with us a few days in the Starlight Suite, they knew that it was time to be together again. A couple months later, when on their return stay in the Cottage, Daragh and Leanne became engaged! Now, a year later on Sunday, January 30, 2011, this lovely couple was married, and honored us again with staying back in the Starlight Suit for their honeymoon. Congratulations to Daragh & Leanne!! We know the romance will continue and we look forward to seeing them for many years to come.

Our next couple is Hugh and Jen.

It was just this Valentine's weekend, on their 4th year being with us to celebrate St. Valentine's Day, with ring in hand, Hugh officially popped the question and Jen said "Yes"!

ENGAGED
Sunday morning this wonderful couple shared the news with us and we couldn't be more thrilled! They were both beaming with delight and I can't wait for next Valentine's Day to catch up with them. Hmmm....there must be some magical powers about the Cottage. Both of these couples were engaged while staying there. It's a trend!

Congratulations Hugh & Jen!!

Your little cupid,
Diane

Great Chamber Music on the Oregon Coast

Neskowin Chamber Music Series Features
David Finckel and Wu Han

Cellist David Finckel and pianist Wu Han will be performing at the Chapel at Camp Winema as part of the Neskowin Chamber Music Series, at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011

In high demand among chamber music audiences worldwide, the duo appears regularly in concerts across the United States and in Mexico, Canada, the Far East, and Europe. Their repertoire spans the history of literature for cello and piano, with an equal emphasis on the classics and the contemporary works.

Beyond their recital activities, Finckel serves as cellist of the Grammy award-winning Emerson String Quartet. Finckel and Wu Han have served as co-artistic directors of The Chamber Music of Lincoln Center since 2004. They are also the founders and artistic directors of Music@Menlo, a chamber music festival and institute in Silicon Valley.

Their Feb. 20 concert will be held at Camp Winema, three miles north of Neskowin, just west of Hwy. 101. Individual tickets are available at the door for $20. Season tickets cost $110. For more information, check the website (neskowinchambermusic.org) or call 503-965-6499.

The Board of Directors of the Cascade Head Music Festival is pleased to announce a Spring concert event featuring the Debussy String Quartet

Personally, this is one of my very favorite quartets. I'm very excited to have them perform in Lincoln City! What a treat it will be to hear this French quartet playing the two most famous quartets by French composers; Debussy & Ravel.

This world-renowned French string quartet, will present a concert of French chamber music at the Lincoln City Cultural Center. This performance is the Debussy Quartet’s premiere concert in Oregon and their only stop in Oregon during their 2011 North American tour. The Debussy Quartet’s concert program, ‘Land of Passion,’ includes string quartets by Debussy, Ravel, as well as Lekeu. Tickets cost $25 for reserved seating, $20 for general admission.

I hope to see you at either of these concerts!
